Claims can be made against an insured vehicle for a number of reasons including due to it being stolen, flooded, vandalised, due to fire damage or accident damage. Car Transplants therefore have stolen recovered cars, flood damaged cars and accident damaged cars.
All vehicles are inspected and categorised, as either category C or D. Insurance companies will write off cars with this level of damage - purely on economic grounds. The Association of British Insurers laid down guidelines specifying the consequences of every different type and degree of damage. Salvage cars considered too damaged to ever be safe to drive again are dismantled for spare parts. Damaged cars which can be safely restored for use on the road are classed as repairable cars and offered for sale.
Car Transplants then sell the salvage vehicles from a 15 acre site in Winsford, Cheshire as repairable vehicles. Which can be repaired using second hand parts for a fraction of the cost.
